The unauthenticity of the authentic self
There’s lots of talk these days about being authentic. What does this even mean? Let’s look into it.
Authentic: It used to root back to the word, “authority”. That is one acting on one's own authority. But these days it is more closely correlated to the word “genuine” would you say?
Dear friends, I will die today and why that's great news!
Dear me,
It’s 11pm. It’s time to die. Yes. I know we did the same thing yesterday. It’s okay, you won’t feel a thing. There will be no more worry. You won’t have any regrets about this.
The only emotional intelligence I know
The only emotional intelligence I know is the intelligence to be aware of emotions, not engage with them, label them, or perceive them, or try to manage them, judge them…
Why are we so obsessed with having purpose?
Sorry I hope you won't take this as being impertinent, but a moment of reflection if I may share.
Why I post what I do: If you have been following my posts, you may know that I am genuinely concerned about the nature of the human mind, that is, every single human being on the planet has the same challenges, psychologically. And, I'm also concerned that this mindset, which has been carrying us for thousands of years continues to direct the world.
The Indescribable Silence
There is an ultimate peace that exists when walking through a forest. Looking up, you can see the sun shining through the top of the leaves, reflecting a hundred shades of light. You can hear the trees speaking with delight as the wind caresses them, encouraging them to dance. The crackle of a trees is as beautiful as the laughter of a human child.
The nature of plants and humans
Even a seed lives its life in the present moment. It's journey might be to become a flower, but it is not preoccupied with the journey, nor is it aware of it. If its destiny is to become a flower, then it does not indulge in the beauty of becoming a flower. It is not preoccupied with getting an umbrella if it rains. In fact, it lives in each moment. If there is sunshine to cherish, then it will absorb the warmth. If it rains, then it will drink its nutrition. All in all, it may not even be aware of itself, its growth.
Standing Alone, Oneness, Silence
"Sitting outside and staring into nature, one wonders if there is anything in this life that has not been created by "thinking". Well, if that staring is indeed observing nature, one wonders no more :). However if in staring there is thought of "what has not been created by thinking", then I am caught in the trap of deception!"
Love can never be described using language
What if I told you that every argument, every so-called “negative” emotion or reaction gives you an opportunity to understand love - love in its true sense? I can “show” it to you.
You have the power to end war and suffering
Why does war exist? We are educated, probably more than ever in history. There are about 4 or 5 million people in the world with PhDs. Has that made the world any smarter? Is this what we suppose is intelligence on this planet? If we are so educated, why hasn’t the human being been able to solve one of the most terrible occurrences in the history of the world? With all of this knowledge and wisdom, we are still stupid enough to pull a trigger and kill another human being.
If you can’t lead with love, don’t lead at all
People have always looked up to leaders. Companies spend millions of dollars on leadership training every year. We elect so-called “leaders” to lead a country. We look-up to school principals to lead education. We even have thought leaders and gurus to help us gain more insight about us, and as such, we like to “follow” their ways to replicate their success. It’s interesting what I said just now. Did you realize something? I said that it’s interesting that we rely on others to give us more insight about ourselves and that we like to follow their ways to replicate their success. It seems to me that we are always chasing something that other people magically have that we don’t, doesn’t it?
Compassion - can it ever exist in the workplace?
A few years ago, I set-off on a path to teach the world love and compassion at work. I designed a program that would help re-connect people at the people-level. This included a lot of human-centric ideas like using eye-contact, the power of laughing, mindfulness, and so on. It was the program that summed-up all of my 20-year corporate experience and all of the hardships I faced at work at that time. I found the same issues happening in whatever position I was in, and in whatever country I was working in at the time. I felt the pain of my fellow employees and the rigid rules that get thrown at us by the companies that we work for.
Does God Really Exist?
Many of us are afraid to ask this question - why? Because we are afraid of the answer, or afraid of the repercussions of what might happen to us if start believing there is no God. But to inquire about this may unveil the greatest discovery to humanity, yet.
On freedom, fighting, and love
So, what is freedom? Humans have been fighting for freedom since probably the beginning of time. Freedom can refer to many things, such as freedom to go to watch a football game; freedom to choose what career we would like to have; freedom to choose which restaurant to eat at tonight; freedom to choose where we want to live; freedom to choose a person to befriend. We can define freedom in many ways. We seem so well practiced to express that freedom and choose to do what we like. We also have the option to choose not to do something, and we believe this is also freedom. It seems freedom of choice is rated so highly in our world today.
Loneliness versus Aloneness: one of these can change your life
We have all experienced the feeling of loneliness. When there is no-one to talk to. When you feel isolated and disconnected. When you are away from family and friends. Let’s look at the repercussions one leans into when you have this feeling of loneliness. For example, people turn to alcohol, or over-eating, or the over consumption of cigarettes and other activities. I don’t want to go into all the examples here. But it seems, we have made a huge fuss over how terrible it is to be lonely. We have such a negative correlation which loneliness.
Is Understanding Death the Key to Unconditional Love?
Questioner: Why do people “see the light” right at the end of their life or when they know they will die?
GC: What happens to me when I die? Is this something you want to go into to? Especially when the so-called “wise” in the world are trying so hard to prolong our lives, to live to 200 years old, or perhaps become immortal one day? Or are we so afraid of death we would rather put it off for as long as possible? When you ask, “what happens to me when I die….”, what is the me? Can we go into this, first?
Time and Fear
Let's face it, most of us are frightened. We have so many forms of fear: we fear darkness, we fear death, we fear losing someone, we fear theft, we fear growing old. We are full of anxiousness which is reflected throughout most of societies around the world. We have anxiety about not following, anxiety of being ourselves, anxiety of what other people think or might say to us, etc. All fear. All are branches of the same tree. So can we ask, is there a relationship between time and fear?
Thought, Time, and Fear
Given the gradual dictatorship and authoritarian world we currently live in, denying us of freedom, feeding confusion and division through vaccines, and causing the great suffering of all human beings in the world, it is interesting to know that nothing in our history, if we truly cared about each other, has been able to change any of this illusionary reality. No organization, no religion or belief, science, or simply knowledge that we have gathered over time through various experiences has been able to change anything.
Love is not defined by “thought”
Isn't it interesting that before Covid, you were not concerned about the preventable deaths of millions of people that die from malnourishment, cancer, diseases caused by substandard living conditions, drug addiction and suicide.
The brain is marvelously dangerous
Unfortunately, what I’d like to talk about is not interesting enough for most people. It’s considered too painful, or too difficult to understand, or to deep. After all, how many people in this entire world, are truly and genuinely from their heart, interested in the genuine love of all humanity?
The Real Pandemic is Failing to Observe the Truth
We have always had a pandemic, but since we are always looking to the external, the outer, we never realize it.
