Skepticism and changing the world
Everyone talks about changing the world for the "better".
As always, skepticism comes to me.
There are a few challenges with this:
1: Are we using the same instrument that got us into this mess to move to "better". Can you really trust the salesperson that sold you a lemon telling you the next car is "better"?
2: We think we can solve the world's problems by first understanding them intellectually, making an abstraction out of it and pursuing that abstraction which means we are still moving from something to something.
3. Are we planning a new community - one that will lead the new consciousness of the world? Isn't this the same type of thinking that got us in a mess in the first place? If you were to count all of the communities in the world, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be too far off the world's population!
Another approach?
Stop. Be still. A silent mind does not move in a direction at all. A direction implies the activity of thought which has proven to us over and over again that it is incapable of understanding love which is the ONLY THING THAT CAN TRULY HEAL THIS WORLD and everything in it. As long as thought, moving with all of its conditioning intervenes, there is NO love.
"Then I will meditate and train my mind for stillness"
This is a little child's dream of living happily ever after. Training your mind is exercising thinking. We are told to focus on breathing - simply a concentration technique. I can do that reading a book.
"What if I watch my thoughts?"
My counteracting question: WHY do you want to watch your thoughts?
The counteracting answer: So I don't say the wrong thing...
Isn't this a form of 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 - suppression? When there is an energy of control, there exists fear. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 means moving away from "what is". It introduces a whole bunch of issues.
Instead, ask yourself, where are you watching from? Who is watching? Is there a separate "watcher" that is "watching"
OR
Is there only watching..........
Love and light,
GC
PS: I just unveiled one of the lenses that darken your world :). Will exploit it in my next book!
